We live in concrete jungles where our biggest concerns are inflation, current political matters, climate change, gun and domestic violence. We worry ourselves over deadlines, due dates, phone calls, text messages and business meetings. Our time and energy go into paying bills, buying the next best thing and keeping up with the Jones. There are so many things in our day to day individual lives that instill pressure, let alone the crushing panic of what the “world is coming to”. We have been born into a system that keeps us so busy that we don’t look where we need to most: within ourselves. When we connect to our selves in ways of the earth, not of the world, we come to realize what was always there: we are nature, wild and abundant.
During my time in the jungle, immersed in nature I could clearly see the overwhelm that comes with abundance. The remedy? Maintenance.
The wellness wheel helps describe the different aspects of our lives that are all interconnected and deeply in need of our loving attention. Each spoke of the wheel speaks to a part of our selves: physical, emotional, intellectual, spiritual, social, environmental, occupational and financial wellness. It is important to note each compartment as a way to discover the best way to maintain your wellness. The order of these aspects is irrelevant as they are all intertwined. So, if one is out of balance, it starts to unravel the rest. It’s my desire for the people I work with to notice the subtleties within themselves at infancy in order to course correct their wellness before an intervention becomes necessary.
Some aspects may be easier for you to express. Perhaps your environmental efforts to keep this earth clean is an easier expression because it is your passion. Perhaps your creativity in art can help you express your emotional and spiritual sides, so it comes out easier than your physical wellness where even a short walk is hard to commit to. Perhaps it’s your physical health that helps your move through and express all the things that are going on in your mind. Perhaps your wellness is expressed through most every compartment aside from your intellectual ambition because school just isn’t your thing. Perhaps it’s the financial side that we struggle with, revealing some weakness in our occupational pursuits. Perhaps rather, your financial pursuits excel where your emotional intelligence struggles. Perhaps you resign to the word expression because you don’t see yourself as artistic or creative. Perhaps it’s none of the above; it’s specific to you and your own experiences.
Wild Wellness Expressions is a passion project of mine, combining my love for people, holistic health and creativity. It all started with a few simple concepts that lead to the way I interacted with the world around me. I dreamt of loving, knowing and accepting everyone I came in contact with. In order to do that I acknowledged the deep need for me to love, know and accept myself. It all starts within our self and spirit. And it is so important to express our wellness through authentic and creative ways that are unique to the individual. If you are looking to find your way, I am not offering a one size fits all approach. I acknowledge the different life experiences that we all have been blessed or burdened with. I accept the worries that come with autonomy and individuality. I reveal new perspectives and paths one can explore in order to gain a better understanding of self empowerment and expression. And I love the relationships that are built together.
My work is wild, abundant, natural. My work is dedicated to the wellness of myself, and of others. My work is to illuminate honest and personal expression.
